every once in a while my friend Danny and I put together a fundraiser event to promote drinking and purchasing items for a good cause.  its the best of both worlds!  go have a few drinks (or more) and   

in the past we've helped japan & haiti and it was GREAT!

This time we are raising money for the Rockaway Rengades & Newtown Memorial Fund

its been a while...
been busy with lots of things...baby showers being one of them!

i will admit, as much as i would like to take credit for this idea, i can't.
i saw it at the brooklyn flea and thought what a great idea!

buy plain onesies and make cute tops using fabric, felt, buttons etc!
sewing machine NOT required....although i'm sure it'll make things much faster!

my roommie (aka husband) is a sucker for t-shirts.

help haiti @ valhalla

ever since the earthquake struck haiti 1.12.2010, the needs of the country and its people have been on my mind.
i've been wanting to find a way to do something, and i'm hoping to go down and volunteer at some point but until then, i designed a shirt.
all money raised will go directly to haiti relief efforts through the foundation for peace.

foundation for peace is a non-profit organization that has been and is continuing to send volunteers on a weekly basis to work at haitian refugee camps in the neighboring country of the dominican republic.
I chose to donate through this group because i've personally been involved with them on trips to the dominican republic where we worked in local villages, ran medical clinics, conducted vacation bible school for the kids, and constructed churches and schools.

through selling, advertising, and wearing this shirt, i'm hoping not only to raise money but to continue to raise awareness to help haiti.

i heart africa shirts

my bf is away in africa doing some great work in nairobi, kenya
before she left, i helped her make some t-shirts to help raise money for her trip
its printed on "super duper soft american apparel shirt blend (vintage feel)"

she's still got some left!
